              Pre-conference workshops

Three fantastic workshops to build and expand your facilitation skills

              Picture
Three pre-conference professional development workshops will be on offer as part of the Australasian Facilitation Conference. Each will be held from the 2nd to 3rd November 2011. If you can't make the conference, you can still attend either of these workshops on a 'stand alone' basis.

The programs have all been tailored to different levels of facilitation experience. So if you're new to facilitation, the 'ToP foundations of facilitation' program will be a fantastic way to learn the essentials of becoming a great facilitator. If you're wanting to hone your skills and share the facilitation experiences of others, the 'Practical Facilitation' program is  just for you. And if you're really looking for new horizons in facilitation, then the Facilitation Masterclass Retreat will be a challenging and rewarding program.

              Practical facilitation
This program is targeted at facilitators with experience under their belt who are keen to revist and reinforce their core skills. Delivered by Ed McKinley and Glen Ochre of the Groupwork Institute of Australia, it introduces participants to the facilitation micro skills and the collaborative processes required for effective facilitation.  The program - being held at the Fremantle Sailing Club -  focuses on a very practical learning journey, which builds on people's experience and strengths as facilitators, and brings the art of facilitation to life.  This training includes:
              • Understanding ourselves in groups
              • Group dynamics and roles taken up in groups
              • Essential principles of facilitation
              • Facilitation micro skills
              • Group process design
              • Dealing with diversity
              • Dealing with 'hot spots' and facilitation challenges.
Download the Practical Facilitation Program here.

There will be time to address the facilitation challenges you are facing, and for practicing various techniques to address these.  Ed & Glen's approach is hands on - so bring your facilitation challenges to work on.
